Scrimshaw Mobile Tattoo Studio respects the privacy of the personal and health information you provide when receiving tattoo services. This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how Scrimshaw collects, uses, stores, and shares consumer health data in accordance with the Washington My Health My Data Act.

This policy is separate from Scrimshaw's general Privacy Policy.

Consumer Health Data I Collect

When you request or receive tattoo services, Scrimshaw may collect information related to your health, physical condition, or ability to safely receive a tattoo.

Depending on the information you provide, this may include:

  • Allergies or sensitivities

  • Skin conditions or concerns

  • Medications relevant to tattooing or healing

  • Medical conditions that may affect tattooing or healing

  • Pregnancy or nursing status when relevant

  • Previous reactions to tattoo pigments, adhesives, bandages, or other products

  • Information about the condition of the skin in the area being tattooed

  • Information you voluntarily provide about healing, reactions, complications, or other concerns before or after your tattoo

  • Photographs of the tattoo area when those photographs contain or reveal health-related information

Scrimshaw does not intentionally collect health information that is unrelated to providing tattoo services.

Why I Collect This Information

Consumer health data may be collected and used to:

  • Determine whether tattooing can be performed safely

  • Identify allergies, sensitivities, contraindications, or other concerns relevant to your tattoo

  • Select appropriate products, placement, techniques, or aftercare recommendations

  • Provide the tattoo services you request

  • Respond to questions or concerns about healing

  • Maintain records required for licensing, health, safety, insurance, or legal purposes

  • Protect the health and safety of clients and the tattoo artist

Scrimshaw will not use your consumer health data for purposes that are materially different from those described in this policy without providing notice or obtaining consent when required by law.

How Consumer Health Data Is Collected

Scrimshaw primarily receives consumer health data directly from you.

Information may be provided through:

  • Digital tattoo consent and intake forms

  • Appointment or booking communications

  • Email, text, direct message, or other communications you initiate with Scrimshaw

  • Conversations before, during, or after your appointment

  • Photographs you provide

  • Observations reasonably necessary to safely provide your tattoo service

Scrimshaw does not purchase consumer health data from data brokers.

Digital Consent Forms & Tally

Scrimshaw uses Tally BV ("Tally") to collect and store digital tattoo consent forms and related client information.

When you submit a Scrimshaw consent form through Tally, the information you provide is processed by Tally on Scrimshaw's behalf for the purpose of collecting and maintaining those records.

Tally may use its own service providers and subprocessors to provide its technology, hosting, storage, security, and related services. Tally's handling of information is also subject to its applicable privacy and data-processing practices.

Scrimshaw remains responsible for determining what information is requested through its tattoo consent forms and how that information is used by Scrimshaw.

Sharing Consumer Health Data

Scrimshaw does not sell consumer health data.

Consumer health data may be processed or disclosed only when reasonably necessary to provide the services you request, operate the studio, comply with applicable legal or licensing requirements, protect health or safety, establish or defend legal rights, or when you have otherwise provided consent as required by law.

Consumer health data may be processed by service providers acting on Scrimshaw's behalf, including:

  • Tally BV, which Scrimshaw uses to collect and store digital tattoo consent forms and related information

  • Technology, hosting, cloud-storage, or other service providers necessary to securely operate Scrimshaw's business systems

Scrimshaw does not share consumer health data with advertisers for targeted advertising.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable Washington law, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether Scrimshaw is collecting, sharing, or selling your consumer health data

  • Access consumer health data Scrimshaw maintains about you

  • Request information about third parties or affiliates with whom your consumer health data has been shared or sold

  • Withdraw consent for future collection or sharing of consumer health data when processing is based on your consent

  • Request deletion of your consumer health data

Scrimshaw does not sell consumer health data.

Withdrawing consent does not necessarily require deletion of information Scrimshaw is permitted or required to retain. You may separately request deletion of your consumer health data.
